‘You are serving the residents’ How many times have we heard that when volunteering? Truth be told, only the individual himself knows the reason why he is there. If that objective is strictly adhered to, why will there be such ugly disputes? Having the opportunity to serve in a Management Council before, the only reason I can think of is when one gets personal and allow emotions to rule over rationale, further amplified with pride: a lethal combination to totally supercede ‘Serving the residents.’
